The AAEM Physician Group Consultation Service allows emergency physician groups to obtain brief consultation on a variety of topics. Consults will typically occur via phone and/or email, but occasionally may occur in person. Topics can include patient flow, patient experience, staffing, group governance, dealing with impaired physicians, recruiting, coding/billing/reimbursement, insurer contracts, medicolegal issues, diversity, growth/expansion, clinical protocols, finance, contract threats, leadership transitions, telemedicine, freestanding EDs, urgent care, residency education, medical student education, nurse interactions, medical staff interactions, hospital leadership interactions, etc. The AAEM-PG Consultation Service can also offer formal coaching to ED leaders.
Pricing: AAEM-PG clients will receive credit for 20 consultant hours per ED site ($10,000 value), per year. Non-AAEM-PG clients could also access the Consultation Service, at the standard rate of $500 per hour. AAEM-PG clients that fully utilize their allotment can purchase additional consultant hours at a discounted rate of $300 per hour. Consults will be billed in 15-minute increments. Travel time, if necessary, will be billed at the same rate (flight/drive time only).

Bob Frolichstein, MD FAAEM is the Secretary-Treasurer for AAEM in now his 4th year on the Board of AAEM. Bob serves as President of Greater San Antonio Emergency Physicians (GSEP) an independent, democratic group with 9 EDs and 49 emergency physician partners. Bob graduated from Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville before entering medical school at the University of Missouri. He attended medical school on a military scholarship.
